Employment Policies ACCOUNTING  Accountants Hawkes Bay Limited is an approved training organisation (ATO) and Trish Patterson is a registered mentor.  We offer practical experience in the following areas:  · Taxation, in-depth.   · Management accounting, broad.   · Accounting Information Systems.   · External reporting, broad.  General Practical Experience  Trainees undergo initial training regarding preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns. These are supported by  standard work papers, checklists and Acclipse Bos Intranet. This provides the basis of the first year's general experience.  We provide new accounting staff with a training checklist.  Formal in-house training is provided from time to time as required.  Staff are introduced to an accounting software package (e.g. Quickbooks) that they can become familiar with and provide  knowledge to assist clients with record keeping.  During this first 12 month general practical experience, trainees are expected to be able to prepare and complete financial  statements and tax returns for clients taking into account tax planning, business structures and suggested improvement in client  business record keeping to identify areas of assistance that should be provided by our office.  Specified Practical Experience  Accountants Hawkes Bay Limited will provide support for the trainee through the Institute's Professional Competency Programme  as outlined in the staff handbook.
